Strawberry and Mint Smoothie Bowl

This trendy breakfast (or dessert!) is perfectly balanced with a few fresh mint leaves – and a few sneaky chocolate chips!

You can’t go wrong with the classic combination of strawberries, mint and chocolate – this smoothie bowl won’t disappoint.

I¬†always struggle with desserts – I usually try to stick to “healthier” desserts but sometimes, my hankering for a big ol’ brownie wins the battle. But just having fruit and yogurt can easily get boring and I like to “treat myself” to a little something extra at the end of the day.

I’ve seen smoothie bowls all over Instagram – apparently it’s the hot new food. I just like it because I love mix ins – if I can mix chocolate into a snack, believe me, I will. Popcorn, trail mix, smoothie bowls, you name it! Consumption was a little…awkward as I didn’t have any clean straws. Slurping smoothies like a bowl of soup probably isn’t “Instagrammable” but who cares because this packed a powerhouse of flavor into one little bowl.

  • Servings: 1

  • 1 frozen banana, preferably cut into chunks before it was frozen
  • 10-12 fresh strawberries with the leaves removed
  • 4-5 fresh mint leaves
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup plain non-fat Greek yogurt
  • 1 1/2 cups almond milk


  1. Add ingredients one at a time to a large blender.
  2. Blend for about 30 seconds, liquify for about 2 minutes and then serve topped with dark chocolate chips and fresh leaves for garnish.
As always, be sure to blend your smoothie for at least 30 seconds longer than you think you need to. Trust me, you’ll appreciate the smooth texture.
